LARGEMOUTH YELLOWFISH
Seasons
We
normally fish for Largemouth Yellowfish during the colder winter
months of the year and early spring (May - September). The larger fish are normally caught during the colder months.
Fishing statistics
Largemouth Yellowfish prefer the deeper and clearer water with an abundance of cover, but will cruise the shallower alleys and waterways in search of prey. They can be targeted throughout the year when water conditions are suitable.



Equipment
For Largemouth yellows a 9’ rod in the 6-7# weight class, combined with a matching floating line is needed. Long casts and hard fights will be at the order of the day. A sinking or intermediate line for fishing the deeper pools will also come in handy
during winter. A 9' leader will cope with most situations. Fish for Largemouth with tippets ranging from10lb and heavier.
