The following
statistic were compiled from my catch diary dated from
September 2003 to June 2008 and are by no means to be
interpreted as a scientific study.
The basic idea is to show
general trends and averages that have transpired from catch data
recorded over the past seasons.
Moonphases
Although I'm of the opinion that weather
changes and pressure fluctuations have a more acute affect
on the catch rate of Largemouth Yellowfish general moon
phase comparisons indicate the following trends.
3 Days before and after New Moon = 2.6 times
the normal fish catch average
3 Days before and after First Quarter =
1.9 times the normal fish catch average
3 Days before and after Full moon = 1.7 times
the normal fish catch average
3 Days before and after Last Quarter = equal
to the normal fish catch average
Number of
fish
The table below indicate
the trend of the average number of Smallmouth Yellowfish caught against
the
number of Largemouth Yellowfish caught per month.
Weight of fish
The table below indicate
the trend of the average weight of Smallmouth Yellowfish caught
against he average weight of Largemouth Yellowfish caught.

(The increase of Smallmouth Yellowfish caught
during September are due to the amount of bigger Smallmouth
Yellowfish that are being caught while fishing for
Largemouth Yellowfish.)
Observations
The total amount of fish: Largemouth
Yellowfish 383 - Smallmouth Yellowfish 681 fish.
Time spent fishing: Largemouth
Yellowfish 71% - Smallmouth Yellowfish 29%.
Catch ratio Largemouth vs.
Smallmouth: 1 Largemouth Yellowfish for every 3.4
Smallmouth Yellowfish caught.
"Big fish ratio": Largemouth Yellowfish
above 3kg (6.6lb) = 1 in every 17 Largemouth Yellowfish
being caught.
