Our rivers

The Vaal river

The Vaal river is South Africa's second largest river system and provides for awesome flyfishing. It is mostly made up of numerous streams flowing through an assortment of small islands with additional variation offered by riffle water, providing the preferred habitat for Smallmouth Yellowfish.

Extensive areas of slower moving deep water creates the preferred habitat for Largemouth Yellowfish and will test your flyfishing skills to the extreme.

The Riet river

This smaller and fairly unknown river is the last tributary that joins the Vaal river. In the past the Riet was mostly used as a substitute flyfishing venue for the Vaal river but has established itself as an unbelievable sight fishing destination. With stable water levels and low turbidity this gem of a river is in a class of its own.
