During the mid 90's I took up
flyfishing for Yellowfish in pursuit of a new challenge. With very limited theoretical resources available at the time, flyfishing for Yellowfish was mostly based on trout tactics. Countless days on the water, various experiments, hours of contemplation and re-evaluation brought more and more success in pursuing Yellowfish with a fly.
Catching Yellowfish on fly started to consume most of my spare time and I ended up spending an average of hundred days per year fishing for Yellowfish, while exploring new areas for even more and bigger fish.
The need for conservation of Yellowfish became more apparent as the species popularity escalated. With a strong conservation background I unsurprisingly found myself part of the founding of The Northern Cape Yellowfish Working Group and an executive member of the local
3 Provinces Flyfishing
Club.
With an ever increasing number of anglers enquiring about my successful tactics on catching Yellowfish on fly, my love for nature and people, the start of a guiding business naturally progressed into a
flyfishing guiding service founded on experience and conservation.
Flyfishing to me is an addiction of the best kind!
